Small Group Soccer Training Ocala FL

Why Small Group Training Works

When players train together, they push each other further. Our small group training blends the personalized approach of one-on-one sessions with the competitive energy of team play. Each group is carefully formed by skill level—not just age—so players stay challenged, engaged, and motivated to improve.

With a maximum of 2 to 4 athletes per session, players receive focused instruction and constant repetitions in a dynamic environment that simulates real game pressure. It’s the best of both worlds: individual attention and the pace of live play.

Whether your player is refining fundamentals or preparing for club, school, or travel soccer, small group sessions give them the edge to grow faster and smarter.

What’s Covered in a Session

One vs One Training

Each 75-minute session includes the core technical work found in our individual training—like first touch, footwork, (skill moves) and ball control—layered with small-sided game scenarios to build real-time decision-making and tactical awareness.

Group sessions focus on:

  • Core technical skills: first touch, (tight) dribbling, passing, and control
  • Small-sided games (1v1, 2v2, 3v3)
  • Movement off the ball and spacing
  • Speed, agility, and quick reaction (explosiveness rather than quick reaction) drills
  • Game-like drills under pressure
  • Peer interaction and healthy competition
  • Plyometric work

Every drill has a purpose. Every session helps players take the next step in their game—together.

Ideal For

Small group training is a great fit for players who want to improve as individuals while building chemistry with others at a similar level. It’s perfect for teammates, friends, or players who thrive in an energetic, collaborative setting.

This format is best for:

  • Players looking for faster decision-making and game pressure
  • Groups prepping for club, school, or travel team play
  • Athletes who want a blend of personal coaching and team-style intensity
  • Friends (or teammates) who want to train together without sacrificing development

The APT Difference

Small group training shouldn’t mean diluted coaching—and at APT, it never does.

Each session is designed with intention. Coaches observe each player closely, give individualized corrections, and guide the group through drills that combine intensity with learning. Players leave more confident, more aware, and more equipped for game situations.

What makes APT different:

  • Groups built by skill, not just age
  • Coaches who stay engaged with each player—not just the group
  • Consistent messaging and development goals across sessions
  • A focus on technique, effort, and smart decision-making
  • Homework sent home for the player to work on outside of training

This is small group training that feels personal—and gets results.
